My time learning more about astronomy…

Standard

As part of our portfolio we had to do a 5 minute radio feature. After speaking to a previous contact I found out that his daughter had won a few competitions and had been chosen to represent the UK in an international Space Competition.

Sophie Gorno from Cardiff is only 15 and is the only girl going from Cardiff. I decided to research how popular astronomy was by doing some star gazing of my own. The Cardiff Astronomical Society were really helpful, in one of their observing sessions I saw Saturn through the telescope which was incredible. It was really fascinating and I met so many great people which is why I love journalism so much.

This is my feature:

I apologise for my lack of blogging…it has been a crazy few months. After our Christmas break, time seems to have absolutely flown by…with TV and radio portfolio’s to do, law and Public Administration exams, practicals and endless production days, there hasn’t been too much time for fun. Admittedly I have enjoyed this 4 day weekend so far though. I now only have 3 more exams and then that’s the end of an incredible year!

My TV portfolio was on the loss of the high street, following on from the Mary Portas review, myself and Karen decided to find out more.
